Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has said that it is the time for women to take the lead in politics.
Speaking at Rivers State All Progressive Congress (APC) Women Summit in Port Harcourt, Senator Tinubu said that the voice of women need to be heard in politics.
Senator Tinubu , who was represented by the National leader of APC , Dr. Mary Allie Idele said that the gathering was a reflection of courage and participation in active politics, and that the All Progressive Congress APC has respect and value for women, positing that women brilliant participation in politics has ushered in development.
She maintained that President Tinubu renewed hope agenda has benefited the women and reassured that they will support the President during the 2027 election.

She called on women to advocate for laws that are beneficial to women, especially for the passage of the constitution alteration bill to include women representation in politics, adding that women voice matters in every state, and local government, even in every election.
Speaking on the theme of the summit, ” The effectiveness of Women in politics”, a Former Commissioner for Social Welfare in Rivers State, Hon. Inime Aguma, said that the essence of the summit was to brainstorm on women participation in politics, when women rise, nation rise, saying that the greatest tool for development is empowering women.
She lamented that despite the fact that women contribute 50 percent of the population in the society, their participation in politics remains low, hence the implementation of affirmative action and 35 percent of women in politics
She commended the former Governor of Rivers State, and Fct minister, Nyesom Wike, who , according to her gave women great opportunity to participate during his time as Governor of Rivers State.
In her welcome address, the All Progressive Congress APC Women Leader in Rivers State, Hon. Darling Amadi, said women must continue to play active role in politics, adding that they are committed to the re- election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, and urged the women to see the gathering as an opportunity to gain more ideas.
In his solidarity speech, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC in Rivers State, Chief Hon. Tony Okocha, commended the support of women to president Tinubu administration, adding that the women has been carried along in Rivers State.
