The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon Charles Wobodo has been honored with an Award by the Rivers State Government.
Hon Charles was honoured with the second position Award in the Rivers State Government Primary Healthcare Management Board Annual State – Level PHC Leadership Challenge for 2025.
The award which was presented by the State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, recognizes the outstanding leadership prowess and the commitment of Hon Charles Wobodo to primary healthcare delivery.
Receiving the award onbehalf of Ikwerre Local Government Chairman, were the Vice-Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government council, Hon. Mrs Ethel Kinika, and the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Vivian Laurent Ordu.

While presenting the award to the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, in his office at the council headquarters, isiokpo, Dr. Vivian Laurent Ordu commended Hon. Wobodo for his unwavering dedication to strengthening healthcare services and his exemplary leadership style that continues to impact the people of Ikwerre positively.
In his response to the honour done him, Hon. Charles Wobodo expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Government for the recognition.
He assured the determination and commitment of his administration towards healthcare delivery, and as well as the wellbeing of the people of Ikwerre Local Government Area, stressing that access to quality healthcare remain a top priority.
He said, ” this award is an indication that our efforts in the health sector are being acknowledged by the Rivers State Government, ” Charles Wobodo summed up.
” It serves as a motivation for us to do even more to ensure that the people of Ikwerre enjoy improved healthcare services”.
