The south south Chairman of the labour party, Prince Favour Reuben, has said that for the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi is the best thing that happened to the party.
Prince Reuben stated this in an interview with our reporter in port Harcourt , saying that members of the labour party are happy for Obi’s exit.
According to Prince Reuben, Peter Obi is a Man who is fraid of building a political party, noting that Obi runs away from problems when there is a problem in a political party.
Comrade Favour Reuben explained that Obi was in APGA, there was problem there, he ran to Labour Party, labour had an issue, he ran to APC, even as he opined that, if by tomorrow, ADC is having problem, he will also run away.
According to him, the character of Obi will not be a good presidential candidate for Nigeria, noting that if obi cannot handle a little problem in his political party, is it the problem of Nigeria that he can withstand, stressing that if he become the president of Nigeria, and there is problem tomorrow, he will run to America.
He said, ” I don’t see the exit of Peter Obi affect the labour party, in fact, we are happier that he has left with his bad wagon, he has left with his problems and their trouble” Prince Reuben summed up.
Reuben posited that now, labour party will rebuild itself and come back as it were.
On weather the party will fill the space of Peter Obi, the vocal south south chairman of Labour party opined that they are not filling up any gap, pointing out that obi rode on labour party structure when there was problem in Nigeria, and Nigerians needed a presidential replacement, hence, Obi became a rallying point for Nigerians to identify with.
He said , Obi going to join corrupt politicians in ADC, who have granded Nigeria, mean that he has joined those who are corrupt and have a common agenda to pull down Nigeria.
His words, ” I don’t see them as people who are ready for anything, pointing out that, the problem is that Tinubu has blocked everywhere they use to steal money, and now, they cannot steal more.
In the same vein, the state Chairman of the labour party, Comrade Deinye Pepple has said that it is a mere speculation that Peter Obi has defected to ADC, and that there was no notice to the state leadership of the labour party from obi that he has defected to the ADC.
According to Deinye Pepple, labour party would not rely on speculation, positing that if obi want to leave labour party, the Rivers State leadership of the labour party would be formerly informed, adding that labour party cannot judge based on rumours and speculations.
Deinye used the medium to enjoin the public to disregard rumours of obi’s defection to ADC, as there was no formal letter to that effect to the state leadership of labour party.
