FGN SAVINGS BONDS OPEN FOR JUNE SUBSCRIPTION WITH UP TO 17.121% INTEREST RATE

The Debt Management Office (DMO) has announced the opening of subscriptions for the June 2025 issuance of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Savings Bonds, offering attractive interest rates to investors.

According to the official offer circular released on Monday, the available bonds include a two-year savings bond maturing on June 11, 2027 with an annual interest rate of 16.121%, and a three-year savings bond maturing on June 11, 2028, offering a slightly higher return of 17.121% per annum.

While the rates reflect a marginal drop compared to May’s offerings where the two- and three-year bonds stood at 16.173% and 17.173% respectively, they remain competitive and appealing to retail investors looking for stable returns.

The subscription window for the June bonds runs from Monday, June 2 to Friday, June 6, 2025. Investors can purchase bond units at ₦1,000 each , with a minimum subscription of ₦5,000 and additional investments allowed in multiples of ₦1,000. Individuals can invest up to a maximum of ₦50 million

Interest payments and redemptions are scheduled quarterly on March 11, June 11, September 11, and December 11 of each year until maturity.

In a social media update, the DMO encouraged public participation, stating:

“We welcome you to this month of June with the Two-Year FGN Savings Bond due June 11, 2027, at 16.121% p.a., and the Three-Year FGN Savings Bond due June 11, 2028, at 17.121% p.a. Offer opens tomorrow and closes June 6, 2025.”

The FGN Savings Bond program is designed to promote financial inclusion while giving everyday Nigerians an opportunity to invest in government securities and earn stable income over time.
