Nname opined that already at the Governorship level, the PDP Governor’s forum has challenged the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers state and the suspension of an elected Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the supreme court.

According to Hon. He noted that Rivers State is a peaceful State, with a peaceful loving Governor, pointing out that the crisis in Rivers State is between two political gladiators, former State Governor Nyesom Wike and Siminalayi Fubara.

He ask, ” what is the disagreement, it is a matter of control of resources, that the Fct minister said he made Governor Sim, therefore will control the Governor, State Assembly and structure to have access to the treasurer of the state”, he said, adding that this is not enough for a declaration of state of emergency.

There must be tendencies for a total breakdown of law and order. There must be a state of of emergency that will make the place ungovernable, even as he opined that non of these conditions is in Rivers state to warrant declaration of a state of emergency in the state.

He said, ” the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State is not inorder, that is why as a party, we rejected the declaration, but because, Nigeria is a country that do not have respect for the rule of law” , adding that no where in the constitution that gave the president power to suspend an elected Governor, a democratically elected State Assembly, he summed up.

He regretted that what is going on now in Rivers State is looting, noting that no one has the authority to spend public funds without appropriation, even as he questioned who appropriated money for the Sole to spend, adding that by all standards and measures, the Sole is in Rivers State not to maintain peace, but to cause further crisis in the state.
