PROF. ISAAC ZEB-OBIPI
The Vice-chancellor of Rivers State University, Nkpolu- Oroworukwo, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, said that the vision of his administration is to transform the Institution into a world – class, innovative, and inclusive institution.
Prof Isaac Zeb-Obipi stated this at the 43rd matriculation ceremony of the University on march 28,2025.
Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi posited that the institution is fostering a culture of excellence, creativity and social responsibility, through the re- engineering of the University’s academic, administrative and community engagement frameworks, pointing out that it would ensure that they are student-centric, faculty driven, community – oriented and responsive to the needs of the 21st century.
According to Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, the Institution aims to achieve the feat through enhancing academic programs to meet global standards, strengthening research capacity and promoting innovation, improving infrastructure and facilities to support teaching, learning and research, even as he opined it’s fostering partnerships with industries, government and other stakeholders to promote community engagement and entrepreneurship, promoting a culture of excellence, transparency and accountability within the University Leveraging technology.
He urged the newly matriculating students to be curious, ask questions, seek answers and explore new ideas.
The New Rivers State University Vice-chancellor also enjoined the new students to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available to them, including research collaborations, internships, mentorship programs as well as community service projects.
Meanwhile, a total of 11,083 students were admitted for 2024/ 2025 academic session of RSU, especially in the areas of Administration and Management, Agriculture, College of medical sciences, Communication and media studies, Education, Engineering, Environmental sciences, Humanities, Law, Medical Laboratory sciences and social sciences.
