C.P OLUGBENGA, POLICE MGT TEAM CELEBRATES RETIRED DCP STELLA ON HER 95TH BIRTHDAY

The Rivers State police commissioner, C.P Olugbenga Adewole Adepoju ,along side with the police management team and some senior police officers celebrated the 95th birthday of a retired DCP Stella Okuyiga at her residence in port harcourt.

Speaking earlier, the Rivers state police commissioner said that the Rivers state police command and the police management team deemed it necessary to honour Mrs Stella Okuyiga, DCP who have retired from the police some years ago due to her dedication, commitment and service to the Nigerian Police force.

According to C.P Adegbenga, retired DCP Stella displayed a sense of responsibility and dedication to her duties, while describing
her as one who played a cardinal part while in service opined that rtd DCP Stella also showed an example worthy to emulate.

C .P Adepoju maintained that because Madam Stella served the police command diligently while in active service prompted the state command to come to celebrate with her at her residence on her 95th birthday.

He expressed gratitude to God for keeping Madam Stella till the age of 95 years.

Responding, rtd DCP Stella Okuyiga expressed happiness with C.P Adepuju and his management team for remembering her and even coming to celebrate with her on her 95th birthday.

She said,” it is an honour for the state commissioner of police and the entire command to honour me, am sure am the only retired police officer to be remembered and honoured in this special way,” she summed up .

She used the opportunity to pray for the C.P and his team, asking God to continue to protect and preserve the police officers as they go about their jobs.

High point of the visit was cutting of birthday cake with the state C .P and presentation of food items to rtd DCP Stella Okuyiga.

Similarly, the C.P also hosted the police correspondents in appreciation of the enormous job that the media is doing in promoting the activities of the police command.

Speaking at the event, C .P Adepoju expressed appreciation to the police correspondents in the state, noting that the police cannot achieve anything without the media.

He acknowledged that the media is doing a wonderful job in promoting police activities, pointing out that the cordial relationship between the media and the police would continue to be strengthened.

Meanwhile, excellent awards were bestowed on C.P Adepoju by a lagos based media outfit for excellent performances.
