Chairman, Rivers State Council of Government Recognized Traditional Rulers, His Majesty, Eze Worlu Chike Wodo, Eze Oha Apara Kingdom, has appealed to the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to upgrade and recognize more traditional stools in the state.
Eze Worlu wodo made the appeal when State Givernor Siminalayi Fubara declared open the 123rd / 124th quarterly meeting of the Rivers State council of Traditional Rulers.
He commended Givernor Siminalayi Fubara for his unwavering commitment towards the development of the state.
In his speech, the State Governor, sir Siminalayi Fubara, said that the employment of the state civil service would be on the needs of the state and not political.
Governor Fubara emphasized that the government of the state will not be pressured to politically employ, pointing out that any employment that will be done in the state would only be based on the needs of the state.
He further urged the Traditional Rulers to be patient as all the needs of the various communities are being captured in the budget of 2026 and would be attended to accordingly.
He said that education would be prioritised, stressing that education is one area that needs government attention especially secondary education.
On the issue of 10,000 civil service employment which was stopped due to some irregularities, the Governor said that no amount of protest that will change the mind of government.
” The Government will not politically employ and employment will not only be done in schools”, adding that other ministries that are under staffed will also be given an attention.
He maintained that before employment can take place in schools, the state government would first upgrade the schools.
