The Nigeria Police Force has announced an extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement, now set to end on *August 12, 2025*.
This update comes after the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, approved the delay in response to widespread public feedback and concerns surrounding the reactivation of the digital application process for the permit.
In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the NPF emphasized its commitment to inclusive, transparent, and citizen-focused policing. “We are listening to Nigerians, and their input has been crucial in shaping the ongoing review of the system,” the statement read.
The extended deadline is intended to provide more time for the Force to fine-tune and upgrade the application system. These improvements aim to make the process more user-friendly, secure, and accessible, ensuring no citizen is left at a disadvantage.
Efforts are also underway to simplify both online and in-person application channels. This includes enhanced identity verification methods and streamlined processing to reduce delays and eliminate unnecessary stress for applicants.
