CHIEF BAR. BEN EKE
A former chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area (AELGA),Chief Barr.Ben Eke has come out with plans to boost the sporting potentials of youth in Ahoada East and Ahoada West local government areas.
In the light of the above,Hon Ben Eke disclosed,in a chat recently,that he would hold a one-day Athletic Meet to mark his birthday anniversary.
Events expected to take place include high jump,long jump,100metres,200metres,400meters,4×100meters,discuss and shot putt.
It would be recalled that Chief Hon Ben Israel Eke,as Chairman of Rivers State Amateur Wrestling Association, usually organized both wrestling athletic competitions and raised an athletic team for Ahoada East LGA.That team is still being sponsored to various athletic competitions such MTN Tour in Benin and Uyo.Recently,the team was in Uyo as part of the Rivers State contingent for the Niger Delta Sports Festival.
