…. MEMBERS FROWN OVER CHANGE OF NAME OF ALMA MATER
The County Grammar School Ikwerre Etche old boys association held her monthly meeting 11 May, 2025, at the Rivers State University.
The meeting which was chaired by the National Vice President, Chief Hon. Vincent Erinwo thanked members for attending as minutes of previous meeting was adopted by members.
Hon. Erinwo asked the Class of 81 ably represented by Dr. Godwin Iheanacho to brief the association on the level of preparedness of 81 class to host the association’s quarterly Congress.
Dr. Godwin on his part, said the class of 81 is ready to host the association on June 8, 2025.
Godwin went further to assure the association of a smooth hosting of the association’s maiden quarterly congress.
Hon. Erinwo thanked the class of 81 for the level of preparedness and asked that all sets of County Grammar School Ikwerre/Etche attend the quarterly congress.
In another development, the association frowned at the change of name of its Alma Mater to ‘MODEL COUNTY GRAMMAR SCHOOL.’
The National Vice President, Hon. Erinwo directed the National secretary Dr. Dawari Johnson to immediately write to the School principal so as to revert to the old name of ‘COUNTY GRAMMAR SCHOOL ‘
Erinwo said ” it’s like changing the name of KINGS COLLEGE LAGOS to MODEL KING’S COLLEGE ” a situation he said ” would affect the psyche of members”
