Clark Family Slams FCT Minister for Disrespecting Late Sage
A political storm is brewing in the Niger Delta as the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) Youth Leadership raises the alarm over what it describes as FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s toxic and divisive brand of politics. At a fiery press briefing in Abuja, PANDEF youth leaders issued a stern ultimatum, demanding that Wike apologize for his repeated insults against Niger Delta elders and stakeholders—or face the political consequences.
The youth leaders did not stop there. They called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately sack Wike, warning that his growing list of political enemies could sabotage Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, especially in the South-South region.
“Wike Is a Political Liability” – PANDEF Youths
Led by National Youth Leader Don Ben Donyegha, Assistant National Youth Leader Mathew Digi, and National Coordinator for Youth Affairs Prince Oleh Victor, the PANDEF youth leadership accused Wike of practicing a destructive, self-serving form of politics that alienates key regional figures.
The youth leaders condemned Wike’s aggressive, humiliating tactics, noting that he has a history of disrespecting traditional rulers, elder statesmen, and political allies who once played a crucial role in his political rise.
Clark Family: “Wike Is Dancing Naked in the Public”
Meanwhile, the family of the late Niger Delta icon, Edwin Clark, has come out strongly against Wike, condemning his recent disrespectful remarks about the revered elder statesman.
In a statement signed by Prof. C. Clark on behalf of the Clark family, the late sage’s relatives expressed shock and disappointment that Wike could not even show basic human decency by respecting the memory of the late Pa Clark, who recently passed away.
“Haba! What kind of politics is this that he could not even let the family mourn their father or allow the late Pa Clark to rest in peace? This is unacceptable and in bad taste,” the statement read.
Expressing deep frustration at Wike’s insensitivity, the Clark family reminded Nigerians that, in African tradition, it is customary to honor the dead, especially a leader of Pa Clark’s stature. But, they said, Wike has chosen bitterness over respect.
“But not so with Wike! I thank God that the whole world has seen his pathetic, miserable, and bitter politics! It is obvious Wike is Wike and, in the words of late Pa Clark himself, ‘he is dancing naked,’” the statement continued.
Calls for Prayers and Intervention
In a final plea, the Clark family urged Nigerians to pray and call Wike to order before he causes further harm to the country’s political landscape.
“With this height of disrespect and indiscretion, one can hardly imagine what Wike can say next,” the statement concluded.
