RIVTEQ SUPPORTS REME ONOLEMEMEN SICKLE CELL RESEARCH FOUNDATION

As part of it’s vision to give back to the society, the Rivers State Teqball Association (RIVTEQ) on Saturday March 1st 2025 partnered with Reme Onolememen Sickle Cell Research Foundation (ROSCRF) to carry on the awareness on Sickle Cell.

The event which marked the second Memorial Day of late Miss Reme Onolememen was hosted by Aristos All Stars at their NTA Mgbouba premises.

Late Miss Reme Onolememen died of Sickle Cell on the 1st of March 2023 and since then, her mother, Mrs. Esther Pepple Onolememen, began an awareness campaign on Sickle Cell.

According to Esther Onolememen, Reme was born in Rivers State before they moved to the Republic of Ireland. She had suffered from the disease since then, before passing on.

Esther revealed that the Reme Onolememen Sickle Cell Research Foundation (ROSCRF) has also partnered with the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital to improve on treatments and care for Sicklers.

On his part, the Chairman of Rivers State Teqball Association (RIVTEQ), Mr. Halim Zaccah Adebola assured the convener – Mrs. Esther Onolememen, of RIVTEQ’s continuous support to drive this campaign to various families within the Niger Delta region through Teqball.
