The Federal Lawmaker, representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1, at the National Assembly, Hon. Chief Manuchim Umesuruike, has debunked the news making the rounds that he has not done any project for the people of Phalga constituency 1, since he assumed office.
Speaking to journalists in a media briefing in his constituency office in port Harcourt, Hon. Manuchim Umesuruike said that he does not want to make noise to make news, pointing out that that he has done done quite a number of development projects and various empowernment programmes since he became a federal lawmaker, representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1, at the national assembly.
The Phalga Federal Lawmaker said that his numerous projects speak volume of determination and efforts to transform Phalga constituency 1, through the establishment of people oriented projects.
According to the Manuchim, there was fishery training and tyling program for the people in 2024, as a way of empowering the youths, in addition to an on going marine ( Heavy Duty) safety training.
The people oriented federal lawmaker opined that he equally engaged in cleaning of canals at Borokiri and Ntawogba axis of port Harcourt city, as well as the cleanPng of the canal at Orochiri Community, in port Harcourt City Local Government Area, adding that for over 3 days, swamp buggy has been sent to the area to arrest flooding situation in Orochiri Community.
The workaholic Phalga Federal Lawmaker also said that in Phalga ward 6, he constructed Toilet at the water side at cemetery water side, in addition to cash empowerment of 5o thousand naira each to over 1, ooo, ooo women to boost their businesses in 2024, as well as several palliatives to the people.
Hon. Manuchim averred said that in order to engage the people of his constituency to be self reliance, he provided local grounded machine as a way of empowering the people for sustainability.
He said, ” I don’t make noise, I’ve done medical outreach at save a life hospital, treated surgeries involving millions of Naira, done outside Rivers state,Hon. Umesuruike summed up.
His words,” in 2025, I have outlined a whole lot of projects to execute, such as Road construction in Ward Phalga ward 7, Okrika water side, ward 6, Abuloma and Elekiahia respectively, pointing out that he he has carried out eye medical outreach to operate cataract and growth in the eye with the provision of classes and hernia and Appendicitis operations that consumed millions of Naira to execute.
He said,” I have constructed class room blocks, numerous borehole, constructed deep sea drilling borehole that ran in millions”, Umesuruike declared.
He further explained that in 2024, December, he distributed over 80,000.000 bags of rice to all the 10 wards in port Harcourt Constituency 1, with special consideration for the larger wards , pointing out that there were lorry loads of rice distributed to Ward 8 Orochiri Community and 9, which amounts to over 7,ooo.ooo bags of rice distributed in 2023, while about 8,000.000 bags of rice was also distributed in 2024.
He also disclosed that the sum of 50 thousand naira each was given to some market women in all the markets in Phalga constituency 1, including, Oroworukwo, D- Line, New market, Borokiri, Sangana, Garri market, Town Market, Navy, Abuloma ( Town market) and Ogbunabali markets among others.
Responding on the reactions of his constituents, Hon Manuchim Umesuruike affirmed that his constituents are over happy with the level of achievements he has recorded within the period at the green chambers, as the people affirmed that they have not witnessed the level of Infrastructural Development and empowerment in the history of Phalga constituency 1, especially in Orochiri Community.
Umesuruike opined that the projects he is doing is outside the constituency projects as approved by the national assembly, noting that his thinking is about humanity as a philanthropist, and that he would continue to do good for his constituency.
He maintained that as federal lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1, he will ensure that his changed the narratives, assuring that he would do more if voted back in 2927.
